MONTHLY SCRAPBOOK CHALLENGE

Hi everyone,

Just a quick note. For those of you that didn't know, the Scrapbook Challenge is a monthly challenge that will run here at Addicted to Stamps.

I have just changed the end date for Scrapbook Challenge #1 - this will now end on the 19th July 2012. This will allow this first challenge to run for the full month that it should.

We would love to see more entries here as I'm sure all our scrapbook albums have been neglected and unloved. The DT has provided some wonderful inspiration for you to dust off your albums and get them looking schmick!!!

Welcome Marie!

Another wonderful lady has joined the DT and I couldn't be happier! Here is a little about Marie -

 I'm originally from the UK but have lived in Greece for the past twenty four years. I am married the love of my life (Greek) and together we have two lovely sons Alex 21 and Ari 17.

I'm a jewelry designer and shop owner and have the added luxury of working with my very talented hubby. I too am addicted to stamps and paper oh and ink and stamps and shoes did I mention stamps!

Scrapbook Challenge!

I sent an email to my DT asking them if they would like to also do a monthly scrapbooking challenge. Even the ladies who don't usually scrap were very enthusiastic about this. What a great DT I have!!

Each month (date is yet undecided), one of the DT members will choose a theme for the challenge. Hopefully this will spark some interest with our followers and we will see some amazing entries and inspiration.

Welcome to the Team - Victoria!

My DT is now complete and I am very fortunate to have this wonderful lady onboard. Here is a little about her -

Hi, I'm Victoria and I live in the beautiful rural Lune Valley in north-west England with my wonderful husband and my lovely cat.  I haven't been blogging for long, but I love the community of friendly and generous crafters that I have been privileged to meet. 

Addicted to all things stamp-related, I joined Stampin' Up! UK as a demonstrator earlier this year and I absolutely love it!  I mostly make cards, but also dabble in scrapbooking.  Outside of the crafting world, I am a secondary school languages teacher which keeps me very busy.  I also love to get stuck in to church work, travel, read, bake, hike, cycle, eat lots of chocolate, play tennis, netball and badminton, go birdwatching, canoe........ don't know how I fit it all in! 

I'm thrilled to be a part of the DT for Addicted to Stamps from the beginning and can't wait to start seeing your entries!

Who am I?

I guess I sort of forgot to mention a little about myself. Everyone's probably going "Who is this chick?" LOL.


I am a single mum with a handsome 17 year old son. I have been blessed to have such a wonderful son who still tells his mum that he loves her (ssshhhh).

We are both volunteers for the local Rural Fire Brigade to which I am also the Secretary. We love what we do with the Brigade and thankfully haven't had too many incidents that we have been called out for. At the beginning of June, we attended the Brigade championships in Brisbane (yes, there are championships!!) with our brigade and had an awesome time. We worked very hard and couldn't hardly stand at the end of it, but we survived :)

I am also a full time carer for my dad and grandad.

I have only been crafting for about 2 years. I don't have a lot of products but am slowly but surely adding to my collection.

I only started blogging in April when I signed up as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. I must say I became addicted to the whole challenge thing as I now realise how terrible some of my creations actually were! It was only a few days ago that I thought I would like to create a challenge blog myself.

And, here we are! I am so excited, especially about my Design Team. What a fantastic group that has been assembled and I know that their excitment and inspiration will rub off on everyone who follows us.

This, of course, is the amazing Jacqueline. No stranger to DT's and blogs, I am flattered to have Jacqueline on the team. Here's a little about her -

Hi, my name is Jacqueline, I live with my husband and grown up children on the border of rural Herefordshire and Worcestershire in the shadow of the Malvern Hills. I have crafted all my life but have only taken to blogging in the last couple of years. It changed my life and now I have many new and  lovely friends with whom to share my passion.I love challenges and take part in as many as I can manage, I also run the Make My Monday Challenge Blog and co-host the  52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown with Mynnette.

I am really excited about being on the Addicted to Stamps design team - it's always wonderful to be at the beginning of something so exciting and watch it grow.

Hi Everyone

My name is Karen and I’m “Addicted to Stamps”!!!

I'm a retired college lecturer, originally from London but moved to Hampshire for my husband Tony’s job. When he took early retirement we moved to Somerset which is a lovely area of the country.  I have been crafting for about 12 years now and run a craft club with my friend Anne which has about 25 lovely members who keep us busy and on our toes!

Crafting started out as a hobby and has now become an overriding passion - it's much more fun than housework!!!  I also love anything to do with fabric and fibres and do lots of free machine embroidery and embellishing.  I’ve also started doing some hand stitching as well.  Recently I’ve dipped a toe into the amazing art of Zentangle, but freely admit that stamping is my passion.

Here's a little about this talented lady -

I have been cardmaking for about 15 years and retired 2 years ago from teaching Hair and Beauty at a local college. I have been married for 42 years and have 2 sons, one who is a writer and can't afford to leave home and the youngest is married to my fabulous DIL who presented me with my first grandson, Charlie, in March this year. I spend my time doing Aqua aerobics, singing in a Rock Choir, going to the theatre, reading, travelling and making cards:)

I would like to introduce my Guest Designer for the new challenge blog - Addicted to Stamps.

Hello!

I’m Patrice and I live in the Nation’s Capital - Canberra, ACT. I have an eleven year old son and a four legged fluff ball we call Lilli.  I grew up in New Zealand with my mum sharing her love of needle craft and sewing with me.  I have since found rubber stamps and pretty papers!  I would describe my style as Clean and Simple (CAS), a 'less is more' kind of look.  I don’t scapbook, although I’d really like to I find the 12x12 space a little daunting..... cards have a much smaller surface area to cover and the results are relatively quick and gratifying.

I have many other interests including ice cream, movies, music and an absolute LOVE of books, I make time to read every day!  Since joining the paper craft world I have met the most incredibly beautiful, kind and generous people, some of which I know are going to be lifelong friends.  Excited to be joining the Addicted to Stamps design team as a guest, I hope to offer just a little of the inspiration I have gained from many over the past few years.

Hi everyone,

I am very excited as I have been working on this challenge blog most of the day just trying to figure out the bits and bobs I really wanted to have ready.

Well, first things first! I have decided that I love entering challenges and was interested in hosting a challenge blog myself. I am a full time carer and there are days where craft is the only thing that keeps me sane :)

 I am doing a callout for my DT. I have already got one awesome lady who has expressed her interest and I would love to have her. I would love to hear from anyone else who may be interested. So you have a bit of an idea of where I am going with the challenge, I will list below the different categories that I would like to have. These would be rotated on a weekly/fortnightly basis - whichever would suit the team.

1. Alcohol Markers - "Make your Mark Challenge"

2. Bingo/Tic Tac Toe - "Bingo Addict Challenge"

3. Theme Challenge

4. Colour - "Addicted to {Blue} Challenge"
5. Clean and Simple (CAS)

6. Sketch Challenge (undecided on this one).

I have secured a inlinz account for ease of linking to the challenge which will include thumbnails.

I really hope to hear from some aspiring designers! This will be really fun!

I have designed some badges for the blog. I was really stuck for a cool name for the winner of each challenge. Perhaps someone has an idea for this?
